Shrimp in coconut milk

This is Indonesian authentic dish, originally from "Aceh" part of Indonesian also. Aceh food common used coconut milk and chili. Acehnese they love to eat spicy. I got this recipe from Mey, she is from Aceh but now settle in UAE. Thanks Mey, really i love it ;)

Ingiderents:
  • Shrimp 1kg, removed the head and washed with lemon, keep aside
  • Sereh ( lemon grass) 2 stick
  • Lime leaves 5 pieces
  • Green chili 4 pieces, cut into two
  • Coconut milk 250 ml ( u can add more as desired)
  • Ginger 1 inch, cut into juliane
  • Tamarin pulp 1 inch
Seasoning:
  • shalot 1 big size, crushed
  • garlic 5 pieces, crushed
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • cumin 1/2 tsp
  • salt and sugar to tated
  • chili paste 1 spoon
Wash shrimps with lemon juice and remove the head. Heat oil in wok then saute garlic and shalot, just 1 min. Add ginger, lemon grass, lime leaves and ginger. Then add chili paste, saute just for 1 sec.

Add shrimp then pour coconut milk, and put all the powder seasoning, salt, cumin, coriander powder, turmeric and tamarin pulp. Bring to boil for 15 min or until shrimps cooked. In the end add green chili. Remove from the heat and served with steam rice.
